UNWINDING IN THE POOL

My full name is Diane Louise Yu-Villanueva.  I am a natural born Filipina,  and I am residing at a beautiful and busy place in the Pearl of the Orient, the Philippines.  Foreigners often mistake me for being Japanese or Korean, but I guess it’s because most of my ancestors came from China, Manila and Spain.  I work as an English Teacher. I like to make friends.I am sincere and direct, I love to laugh and I have a good sense of humor. I am a very inquisitive person, and I am very talkative. I may sometimes become frail, but I try my best to be strong in order to face everything I come across with courage. I try to live my life to the fullest, though I may be fallible,I have learned from the mistakes I’ve made in the past and it helped me gain wisdom and good judgment. I love to be surrounded by people who are friendly, mild-mannered, humble, exuberant, cheerful, witty, kind-hearted and down to earth. I enjoy being with people who gingerly choose their words and who are tactful. I am an animal lover. I am devoted to reading. I prefer watching movies in a Dolby Digital Cinema like Promenade with my family or friends, rather than clubbing. I have a desire for digital gadgets. I can be so engrossed with watching mixed martial arts videos, and love collecting MMA apparel. I like to travel and discover new places. I like to take photos, videos and keep souvenirs.I love dining out, and I usually crave for Japanese dishes. I enjoy cooking for my loved ones. I prefer drinking Green Tea over soda. I like long driving, minus the traffic. I love make up, and flirting with color. I would never hesitate to chop my locks to try a new hairstyle, or dye my hair with a color I’ve never tried(of course.. with something that I think suits me) I love having a massage to detoxify myself from stress. I love nail polish, and I love pampering my feet. I enjoy being married to my husband. We now have two beautiful baby girls.

 I love my family and my friends. Through the years, I have learned how much my family meant to me, especially my husband, my kids, my mom and my mother-in-law. I’m really glad we are all together. And, I’m lucky to have two great brothers, who are both godfathers to our kids. They guided me along the way, and I love them too If you look at it, we have a small family. But, we are ‘close knit’. With everything I have experienced, they have always been there to stand by me and back me up. Life must indeed go on, despite all the trials we come across. The most important thing is we have our families always by our side. Nothing beats that. They say “Fate chooses our relatives, we choose our friends.”.. well, I’m glad I chose great friends, and fate gave me a loving family.

MY FAMILY: I am very blessed to have such special and loving people in my life.  I have my family to thank, for supporting me through thick and thin. They have been my source of strength when I have been very down, and they have respected me and shared my happiness especially with the very important decisions I have made.  I love those who love my family, and hate those who try to abuse and disrespect them.   I consider my husband’s mother my own, and I love her  like my own too.  My aunts live in the US.  Some of my cousins live in Australia, but being apart from some members  of my family isn’t a hindrance for me from feeling their presence.  I firmly believe that we should always remember where we came from, and always look back at our roots.  It is our family who first taught us the values of life, and it is our family who made us the people we are now.

HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE

MY HUSBAND: The name of my better half is  Michael. Each day I wake up next to him makes me feel so lucky and blessed to be his wife. He is very intellectual, provident, wise, kind, sweet and forgiving. He loves me for who I am, for my mistakes in the past and my short comings.  I thank God for blessing me with a man like him. I have a lot to be thankful for, and he is one of the greatest reasons why I should be. He is very persistent and works hard for everything. He makes sure things are done well, and makes sure he does not hurt anyone with his actions. He is always aware of his surroundings. He sets his goals and does his best to reach them. He is my best friend. He always finds a way to cheer me up and he makes  me feel good about myself, even when I’m at my lowest.  Michael is a wonderful husband and a good father. I thank the Lord that we finally ended up together, despite everything we have been through in the past years, the long distance relationship and the break ups we had. I’m more than happy and content with my life now, because I am settled with the man I truly love.

MY FRIENDS:  I also have a lot of friends, those true, down to earth people whom I can trust and share my secrets with. They often visit my site, and they are my regulars! They have given me so much help and have been there for me during my toughest times. They are the people I consider dearest to my heart, like my family. I want to thank them for helping me and supporting me especially on the two most important events in my life : when I got married, and when I gave birth.  I don’t have to mention their names because they know who they are.  I cannot really enumerate all the wonderful gestures my friends do to make me and my family feel loved, and that is why I treasure them all and keep them close.  They are the REAL people whom I know I can rely on.  They are sincere, and fun to be with.  They provide me a sense of warmth and welcome, and most of all, they treat me with respect. I keep my friends close.  That’s all to it.
